The History
The Beginning of all (late 1999 - 2000)
Kilu, Kita and Lupo have been playing for some time together in a cover band called Absolute Horror (R.I.P) doing mostly student- and other party entertainment. Some action towards Tinker is taken as Kilu and Kita start working on (or just jammin') some own material. Naturally Lupo joined in to the sessions and Jani was also an obvious choice for a second guitar. I think this kind of music was quite new to everyone of us, so the hard work started to make it work. First demo was introduced and Tinker had the very first gig on December 2000 at Factory. Btw, Nightdrive is one of the songs dating back to these early days.
Figuring it out (2001 - 2002)
Still kind of takin' it slow and finding out what we should do and how it should sound. The second demo was recorded 2001, but still pretty much hiding at the rehearsal place. Somewhere a long the way Heikki got officially a part of the band (as a keyboardist and a musical consultant). In 2002 coming "out of the closet" and playing the first really big gigs at Tavastia and Nosturi. That was a huge thing at that time considering that we had done only a couple of (badly recorded) demos yet. The songs on "As We Are" and "AIR" demos have been pretty much forgotten since.
Getting a grip (2003 - 2004)
More gigs and growing self confidence. Luana was the first demo that was sent to some reviews and was even playing on the radio! We spend a lot of time recording new songs and re-recording some old ones that we thought deserved a second chance - ending up to be a full length Tinker album. At this point Ben had joined the band, first as a producer, then a guitarist, but finally after Lupo had to leave the band, a bassist.

More gigs and song material (2005)
Tinker moved to a brand new, fancy rehearsal
place/studio premises in Vallila (Helsinki). In the middle of the year some
weird band internal crisis lead to unfortunate event finding a new bassist. This
is where Topi joined in. Although nothing really special happened to brag
about, we had an intense and productive year. Plenty of new songs recorded but
only some mp3 publishing on the net. Maybe the most significant thing was
finding a producer (Lauri) for the recordings that started on October.

“The New Era” (2006)
It’s now January as I write this, and I’ve got a feeling that this year should really
bring more dramatic achievements for Tinker. With the four-song recording that
we are now working on together with Lauri we are really aiming high. Meaning
that it’s mostly meant for big-time-promotion and hopefully even material “ready
for on a long play album” if there’s still gonna be one. Hopefully we’ll get
there :)
